If someone steals from the company they want you to ask them to work even if they quit. They do not care that the person stole, they do not put your safety first. You will be offered the high rate of pay due to the 60 hours you will work."

"Management is simply ineffective and lazy. Sales associates do any and everything management asks but it is still not enough. There is constant whining and complaining from customers and management which can be extremely overwhelming. Very tense job atmosphere because it feels like employees are constantly being criticized and blamed for lack of sales. 90% of hours go to management who then take advantage of the few associates working by asking them to do multiple things at once as they do nothing or fold during shifts. Customers are ignored by management and passed on to associates constantly just because management feels superior."

"Divisive working culture where mangers who I assume are following company policy, encourage employees to distrust each other, check up on each other and report back to manager any and all "compliance" errors. Its a culture of distrust -- not only do they search purses upon leaving, they went into my purse, open everything single thing: cosmetic bag, cute coach pill box i keep advil and heatburn meds in, wallet, side pockets and any thing else you may keep in there. I was told that if I put my coat on before we got the the front of the store, I could be "patted down."!!"

"Very low pay for sales leads and associates, no benefits, unprofessional store manager as well as co-manager. The upper management would talk badly about certain employees within our store behind their backs. They would try to get people to quit rather than fire them by cutting their hours, criticizing them and only giving them negative feedback, and creating a hostile work environment. Way to much emphasis on selling credit cards. Management would threaten job security if employees didn't meet their unreachable goal for the week. They would also tell us to lie to customers and tell them it was just a "store card" or "rewards card" rather than a credit card. If they asked if it was a credit card we were prompted to lie and say no its a store card. Bullying takes place when your unable to work certain shifts, especially weekend night shifts because the management doesn't want to work these hours. The training was awful. They trained me 1 night before they had me closing the store without another manager, and then only gave me negative feedback after.They say work/life balance is very important however I found they wanted the loft to be the most important thing to me even over my family and personal health."

Everyone is overworked due to cost cutting measures as a last minute attempt to save ascena due to poor decisions that were made at the top. The company prides itself on being a company for women, yet it cannot even offer its female associates competitive maternity leave benefits (6wks/8wks STD and if you're in NYS, you can qualify for NYPFL but then have to use vacation/sick time to supplement the remainder of that check to receive full pay). Get with the times, treat your employees like people and then maybe you won't have the turnover issues you've been having.Vacation time (if you actually get to take it)The benefits are a complete joke."

Working with those women entailed putting up with constant passive aggressive behavior, shadiness and bad talking cowo. So you’re working to give your money right back to Ann. Not to mention you could work 7+ hours and only get like a twenty minute break75% discountShort breaks, rude customers, bad management"
