Ann Taylor Loft Sales Lead says

"allow management to hire friends, negative work environment, don't listen to employees concerns or needs, and allow individuals to work their whom belittle workers."

Former Employee - CO Manager LOFT says

"No Client facing time in the Loft outlet. The store was to busy to be concerned with the client facing portion. If someone steals from the company they want you to ask them to work even if they quit. They do not care that the person stole, they do not put your safety first. You will be offered the high rate of pay due to the 60 hours you will work."

Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"Bad management working more for what you get paid for , no moving up"

Former Employee - Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"Management treats both employees and customers like a number. The clothes are overpriced and need better quality control."

Former Employee - Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"managers lacked professionalism, other employees who had worked there longer were condescending, chaotic, not a great environment."

Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"Management is simply ineffective and lazy. Sales associates do any and everything management asks but it is still not enough. There is constant whining and complaining from customers and management which can be extremely overwhelming. Very tense job atmosphere because it feels like employees are constantly being criticized and blamed for lack of sales. 90% of hours go to management who then take advantage of the few associates working by asking them to do multiple things at once as they do nothing or fold during shifts. Customers are ignored by management and passed on to associates constantly just because management feels superior."

Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"Divisive working culture where mangers who I assume are following company policy, encourage employees to distrust each other, check up on each other and report back to manager any and all "compliance" errors. Its a culture of distrust -- not only do they search purses upon leaving, they went into my purse, open everything single thing: cosmetic bag, cute coach pill box i keep advil and heatburn meds in, wallet, side pockets and any thing else you may keep in there. I was told that if I put my coat on before we got the the front of the store, I could be "patted down."!!"

Current Employee - CO Manager LOFT says

"Overworked, underpaid. As management you may be expected to work over 40 without batting an eyelash. Cattiness and cliches. It's like high school at times. Ridiculous."

Former Employee - Ann Taylor Loft Sales Lead says

"Very low pay for sales leads and associates, no benefits, unprofessional store manager as well as co-manager. The upper management would talk badly about certain employees within our store behind their backs. They would try to get people to quit rather than fire them by cutting their hours, criticizing them and only giving them negative feedback, and creating a hostile work environment. Way to much emphasis on selling credit cards. Management would threaten job security if employees didn't meet their unreachable goal for the week. They would also tell us to lie to customers and tell them it was just a "store card" or "rewards card" rather than a credit card. If they asked if it was a credit card we were prompted to lie and say no its a store card. Bullying takes place when your unable to work certain shifts, especially weekend night shifts because the management doesn't want to work these hours. The training was awful. They trained me 1 night before they had me closing the store without another manager, and then only gave me negative feedback after. They say work/life balance is very important however I found they wanted the loft to be the most important thing to me even over my family and personal health."

Ann Taylor LOFT Sales Associate says

"Management lacked good leadership skills. Managers were more concerned with being liked by employees than leading well. Also payment randomly varied across employees, for no reason."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Management is not setting very great examples to their employees. They don't follow the rules, disrespect and treat their employees badly. Should undergo more trainingNaNa"

Sales Lead (Former Employee) says

"You will do everything, freight, clean bathrooms and sales. They only care about credit cards. Too much favoritism and rude to anyone who questions manager motives. You don’t get paid for the hours you work.DiscountToo much hard physical work"

Sales lead (Former Employee) says

"As a female driven brand, it was not motivating nor empowering by any female authority I worked under. I never experienced such discrimination, hate or disrespect inall my years working in retail. It was so disappointing on all terms.Everything in management"

Store Manager (Former Employee) says

"Upper management was a headache and never in line with each other. Consistently adding more work to weekly schedules without adding a decent amount of payroll. Worst company to work for"

Co-Manager (Former Employee) says

"Difficult time for this company. They were constantly changing direction. Sometimes merchandise was late for execution. Pressure was always on opening credit cards."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Loft ANNTAYLOR is the most unprofessional place to work. The managers are full of drama and do not know how to manage. The store was very unsanitary and just gross. This company is no good!!!!!Flexible schedulesThe whole company"

Merchandiser (Former Employee) says

"A toxic culture with poor managers who truly do not value their employees. Everyone is overworked due to cost cutting measures as a last minute attempt to save ascena due to poor decisions that were made at the top. The company prides itself on being a company for women, yet it cannot even offer its female associates competitive maternity leave benefits (6wks/8wks STD and if you're in NYS, you can qualify for NYPFL but then have to use vacation/sick time to supplement the remainder of that check to receive full pay). Get with the times, treat your employees like people and then maybe you won't have the turnover issues you've been having.Vacation time (if you actually get to take it)The benefits are a complete joke."

Sales Lead/Key Holder (Former Employee) says

"Way to much turnover Manager and supervisor not interested in respecting employees only interested in her own growth employees often belittled in the presence of others lots of labor violations"

Store Manager (Former Employee) says

"Poor management, bad benefits , no work life balance. Managers worked more than 40 hours. No space to grow. No communication with District manager racism"

Seasonal Sales AssociateNovember (Former Employee) says

"very strict management and not lienent to fit a college students schedule. they do not understand calling in because of a death in the family. do not share coworkers information but expect you to have it"

Manager/ Key Holder (Former Employee) says

"I have to say the worst working experience I have ever had. Store manger was a mess!!! No support from cooperate and or district management team. Schedule was always done last minute in a hurry and then had to be adjusted! Crazy drama and too much gossip between employees and Loft. Some employees were awesome and caught in the middle. Just a horrible work environment"

NA (Former Employee) says

"I was over worked and my schedule was very inconsistent. Also, I trained another store manager as I was a store manager too, they laid me off and replaced me with her because they were friends outside of work."

Key Holder/Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"do you want a negative life. come work at your local Lou and grey. there is negative spilling out of the dead vibes that are making the plants die!!!!steaming clothes all daystaying 1 extra minute"

SALES ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) says

"The work days were slow with nothing to do after straightening the store Management was petty and talked about the workers behind their back. They refused to cover shifts for assistant manager in times of crisis."

Sales Lead - Key Holder (Former Employee) says

"Manager has no idea how to manage, lied about position, expect to drive to the bank, huge stress on credit card sign ups, 25 hrs working 5 days a weekShort shiftNo benefits due to Part Time status, Manager changes schedule daily and extends shifts or cuts hours depending on payroll"

Sales Rep (Former Employee) says

"Ann Inc. offered flexible scheduling and was a great place to work at, offered very good training. It was a very team oriented environment, they offered a lot of help and support."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"work environment was very unprofessional with the manager. micromanagement was very evident. they would rather hire someone from the outside instead of hiring an insider."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Loft and it was horrible. The managers didn't know what they were doing, half of the time as much as the employees were. Everytime you open the store, it's a mess and they would lie to you and cut your hours without even telling you. it was a horrible experience.Disrespect, Discrimination"

SALES ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) says

"For this job you need to have a lot of patience working here because it is slow the majority of the time. When it is busy you basically are folding clothes.breaks to eatunable to move up"

SALES ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) says

"Basically Ann pays you the bare minimum and expects blood sweat and tears. The management at King of Prussia is tragic. Working with those women entailed putting up with constant passive aggressive behavior, shadiness and bad talking cowo. The sales lead were childish as well, not displaying any leadership skills but instead making things personal. There’s absolutely no benefit besides the discount on their clothes. So you’re working to give your money right back to Ann. Not to mention you could work 7+ hours and only get like a twenty minute break75% discountShort breaks, rude customers, bad management"
